Before Your Visit

How do I prepare for a Curly Haircut?

  • Wash your curls the day before or the morning of your appointment.
  • You must cleanse, condition, remove all tangles (we recommend you do this with conditioner and a wet brush in the shower), and let your hair completely air dry, so that your curls dry in their natural form.
  • Product in your hair is okay if it does not create a fake curl.
  • Do not pull your curls up in a ponytail, braid, bun, clips, or wear a hat when you come in for your appointment.
  • Do not brush your hair once it dries! We need to see your curls as defined as possible.

  • What's the difference between a Devacurl, Ouidad, Rëzo, or Forever Curl Haircut?

The Devacurl, Rëzo, and Forever Curl haircuts are done on DRY curly hair. We recommend these cuts for wavy, curly, or coily haired clients that prefer to wear their natural curls about 90% of the time or more.

A Devacurl haircut will give you shape and frame your face, while preserving the length of your hair as much as possible.

A Rëzo haircut will help you achieve volume. It is meant to optimize the texture and shine of curly hair.

A Forever Curl haircut is meant for the coiliest of curls and will allow you to maintain length and add volume to your hair all around your head.

The Ouidad haircut is done on WET curly hair. We recommend this cut for wavy or curly haired clients that blowdry their hair straight often (once a month or more than 7 times a year). If you are looking to keep your curls under control and are blessed with high hair density, this technique is for you.
